Indian mythology boasts of a number of revered Gods and Goddesses. All these Gods and Goddesses, in turn, boast of fascinating animals that they use as their vahanas (vehicles). Goddess Durga rests on a lion, Shiva rides around on a magnificent bull called Nandi. Similarly, Vishnu has his Garuda, a half eagle- half male. These all sound like royal vehicles used for the comfort of the Gods.
